Patrons Saint's Day 2014

With the theme " Service as an Augustinian Expression of Love" (cf.City of God 21.27), the University of San Agustin celebrates its annual Patron Saint's Day, a day away from all the school work and most importantly a day of festivities in honor and praise to our beloved patron, St. Agustin.Like every other uniwide celebration, the day started off with a mass lead by the friars of The Order of St. Agustin. The mass gave time for every one to reflect on the life of St. Agustin. After the mass, the crowd flocked to the streets of the university anticipating the groups participating in the next event, the "Sad-sad".

Sad-sad is the Augustinians own version of our local Dinagyang festival. This event was participated by all the departments of the university including the Basic Education Department who in the past years have been excelling in this event. The streets were filled with music, color, smiles and the deafening cheers of the crowd in expression of their awe as the competitors showcased their dances and in support for their own departments. Each department has its own way of combining talent, creativity and praise but the College of Engeneering and Architecture has caught the judges attention and named champion of the 2014 Sad-sad competition, College of Management and Accountancy as 1st runner-up,

As our part in raising awareness of how great our patron is. We gave out bookmarks to guests and to students from other departments.

It was a day full of celebration and of meaning. School events like this show how competitive each department there is but also how united we are as one family. Truly we are a community of one mind and one heart.
